Holy Week graphics: a day-by-day checklist from Palm Sunday to Easter

Good Friday title slide: a crown of thorns over a blurred teal, gray and red background, with the words Good Friday in small white type

Holy Week needs a graphic for every gathering: Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and any Saturday event like an egg hunt. On top of those, make one schedule graphic that lists every service, and post it more than anything else. In 2027, Palm Sunday is March 21 and Easter is March 28.

Start with the schedule graphic

One post with every service, day and time on it. It's the graphic people save, screenshot and send to family, so post it three times: two Sundays before Palm Sunday, on Palm Sunday, and on the Wednesday of Holy Week. Show it as a slide in the announcements for the same three weeks.

  • Palm Sunday, March 21
  • Maundy Thursday, March 25
  • Good Friday, March 26
  • Easter Sunday, March 28, with every service time

Palm Sunday: March 21

  • Title slide on the screens as people arrive.
  • Social post that morning: "Holy Week starts today," with the schedule in the caption.
  • Easter invite cards. Print the Easter social post as 4 x 5 inch cards and hand them out today. It's the Sunday with the most regulars before Easter, and they're the ones who'll invite people.
  • Notes slide for the triumphal entry reading.

Maundy Thursday: March 25

  • Title slide and a notes slide for the Last Supper reading and the instructions for communion.
  • Story that afternoon with the service time.
  • Blank background for lyrics. If the service ends in silence or with the lights off, plan a black slide for the end.

Good Friday: March 26

  • Title slide in a quieter design than Easter's. Dark and simple is right for the day.
  • Social post that morning with the service time.
  • A phone wallpaper. People search for "It is finished" images on Good Friday. Post the story graphic with the words on it and say "save this as your wallpaper." The story size is already phone-shaped.
  • Lower thirds for each reader if you read the seven last words.

Saturday: the egg hunt

  • Social post and story two weeks out, with the age groups and the start time. Egg hunts start on time and end fast, so put "starts at 10 sharp" on the graphic.
  • Facebook event with the title slide as its image. Neighbors who aren't on your church's page find it there.
  • A sign or banner at the entrance. The 4K slide prints large enough for a poster.
  • Easter invite at the hunt. Every family that comes should leave with a card for Sunday.

Easter Sunday: March 28

  • Title slide on every screen, plus the blank background for lyrics.
  • Welcome slide for guests. Easter brings more first-time visitors than almost any other Sunday.
  • Next-series slide. If you start a new series on April 4, show it at the end of the service.
  • A "He is risen" post that morning, and a thank-you post with photos on Monday.

Ash Wednesday and Lent

If your church marks Lent, Ash Wednesday is February 10, 2027, and it needs a title slide and a social post the Sunday before. A Lent series can carry the same design all the way to Easter. See our Easter sermon series ideas for three ways to plan it.

Getting it done
