Pastor appreciation graphics: slides, social posts and a card the church can sign
October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and Pastor Appreciation Sunday is usually the second Sunday, October 11 in 2026. You need a title slide for the service, a social post and a story that invite the church to take part, and one printed piece everyone can sign. Plan it with a small team, and keep it a surprise if you can.
The pieces
- Title slide. On the screens that Sunday morning, and in the announcements the week before.
- Social post. "Help us thank Pastor [name]," with a link to leave a note or send a short video.
- Story. Ask people to reply with a favorite memory or a sermon that stuck with them. Save the replies for the pastor.
- A card the church can sign. Print the 4K blank slide as a poster. It's 3840 pixels wide, enough for about 18 x 10 inches. Leave it in the lobby for two Sundays with markers next to it.
- A thank-you video. A minute of short clips from members, with the title slide at the start and a lower third with each person's name.

A three-week plan
- Three weeks out. Pick a small team. Collect video clips and notes by text or email.
- Two weeks out. Post the social graphic and a story asking the church to join in. Put the poster in the lobby.
- The Sunday before. Announce it from the stage, while the pastor is out of the room if you can manage it.
- Pastor Appreciation Sunday. Title slide on the screens, the video before the sermon, the poster presented at the end.
- The week after. A thank-you post with a photo of the pastor holding the poster.
Starting late? One slide, one post and the poster, done in a week, is still plenty. What your pastor will remember is what people wrote.

What to write
The words matter more than the design. A few prompts to share with the church:
- "A sermon that stuck with me was..."
- "Thank you for being there when..."
- "This year I'm praying for you about..."
Include the pastor's family on the poster and in the post. They serve too.
